How to buy Iguazu Falls tickets, on both sides

There are exactly two official sellers, one per country. The Brazilian park sells only online through its concessionaire's site, for a day and time slot, with the ticket issued in your name. The Argentine park sells online through the national parks administration's system, reached from the concessionaire's site, and also at the gate in pesos; sales open thirty days before the date and the ticket is for a fixed day and time slot. This site is not either of them. We explain the two purchases and, once our booking opens, we will offer both entries in a single checkout in US dollars.

In short

  • Brazil: cataratasdoiguacu.com.br, online only, timed entry, name and photo ID
  • Argentina: iguazuargentina.com, which completes the purchase on ventaweb.apn.gob.ar; or the gate, in pesos; 30-day window, fixed day and time
  • No ticket covers both parks. Two purchases, two currencies
  • We are an independent site. Our booking is not open yet; when it is, it will show the official price next to ours

Buying the Brazilian ticket

  • Go to the park concessionaire's site and open the ticket shop; tickets are limited and sold exclusively online, with the day and time of the visit chosen at purchase
  • Choose the category: Integral for foreign visitors; Brazil/Mercosur for Brazilian, Argentine, Paraguayan, Uruguayan and Venezuelan nationals, ten percent lower; Community Pass for residents of the neighbouring municipalities
  • Enter each visitor's name. You may buy several tickets under one name, but on the day every visitor shows a photo ID and their own ticket
  • Show the ticket on your phone; printing is not required. To change date or time, log in to the same site and edit the purchased ticket
  • If the payment keeps failing, the park suggests checking with your bank and, as a last resort, its support desk at the visitor centre
The Brazilian park states that there are no discounts or commissions for groups or agencies and that prices are fixed. Any site selling the Brazilian entry above the official price is charging for the service, not for the ticket. That includes us, once our booking opens.

Buying the Argentine ticket

  • Go to the Argentine concessionaire's site and choose the general entry. The purchase itself is completed on the national parks administration's sales system, to which you are redirected
  • Tickets go on sale thirty days before the visit date, so you cannot buy further ahead than that
  • Pick the day and the time slot carefully: the ticket is valid only for them and the system does not allow changes after purchase. In case of force majeure it keeps its validity for seventy-two hours
  • The gate also sells tickets, in Argentine pesos, by credit card, debit card or cash. Online is recommended to avoid queues
  • The international visitor tariff applies to foreign passports; residents, students and other categories show their documents at the gate
Second day at half price: show your first-day ticket at the ticket office and the next consecutive day costs fifty percent less. It is applied at the gate, not online.

What this site does, and does not

We are an independent guide. We are not the park, the concessionaires or the national parks administration, and we do not use their logos. What we do is explain the two purchases, publish each park's official price next to any price of ours, and, when our booking opens, sell both entries in a single checkout in US dollars for visitors who would rather not handle two portals, two currencies and two sets of rules. What we cannot do is change a park's rules, release sold-out slots or promise anything the parks control.

How to recognise the official sites

  • The Brazilian one carries the logos of ICMBio and Iguaçu National Park and describes itself as the official website of Iguaçu National Park tourism; its ticket shop is a subdomain of the same address
  • The Argentine one is run by the park concessionaire and, for the general entry, sends you to a government address ending in apn.gob.ar
  • The Argentine site itself lists the official sellers for both parks on its ticket page, including the Brazilian concessionaire
  • Anyone else, including us, is a third party. A third party should say so plainly and show the official price next to its own

Questions

Can I buy the Brazilian ticket at the gate?

No. The park sells exclusively online with a scheduled day and time. The only exception the park mentions is a support desk at the visitor centre for purchases that failed online.

Can I buy the Argentine ticket months ahead?

No. Sales open thirty days before the visit date. Plan the purchase for that window and remember the day and time cannot be changed afterwards.

Are there refunds?

The Brazilian park states there is no partial or total refund for unused tickets; the Argentine system does not allow modifications after purchase and refers cancellation queries to the national parks administration. Read each park's conditions before you buy.
